Patient Care Technicians
DESCRIPTION
The Patient Care Technician functions as a member of an interdisciplinary team to organize and provide quality patient care services under the supervision of a licensed professional.
REQUIREMENTS
-High school graduate or equivalent required.
-Certification as a Nursing Assistant, or Medical Assistant, or EMT, or nursing student who has successfully completed one clinical rotation, or one (1) year previous clinical hospital experience preferred.
-Two (2) years previous pediatric experience preferred.
-Must satisfactorily complete all skills and requirements for Patient Care Technician 1.
-Competencies, as defined by the department, must be completed within six months of hire.
-Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills required
-Demonstrated leadership abilities and documentation of ongoing development and training.
-American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers course completion care or the American Red Cross course equivalent, which is CPR/AED for the professional rescuer, required.
- Must be able to successfully pass the Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher rating within 30 days of date of hire.
