Freight Handler Forklift Operator
Job Summary and Mission
Manual loading and unloading of freight with the use of a pallet jack, hand truck or forklift, general labor, and warehouse maintenance. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
-Assist in receiving cargo by removing from truck by hand, or using manual equipment such as hand truck or pallet jack.
-May also use forklift.
-Verify and note the count and condition of cargo received.
-Accurately label freight to destination.
-Assist in segregating cargo received by account or intended location.
-Perform various manual labor functions such as hand-loading containers.
-Develop and maintain excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times.
-Perform various warehouse maintenance tasks, including sweeping floors, storing equipment, etc.

Job Description
AmeriCold Logistics, the largest provider of temperature controlled distribution services in the US, is seeking a Forklift Operator to join the team at our Westgate facility.
Primary Responsibility: Unloads and loads customer product, scans product, and places it correctly in warehouse. Maintains a safe and clean work area.
Essential Functions:
-Promote a safe work environment through personal actions. Identify any safety concerns, as well as cost saving opportunities.
-Load and unload trucks and railcars. Move product onto pallet in correct position.
-Scan product and move to loading area. Check for accuracy and placement.
-Direct product to correct area in warehouse.
-Pack product using shrink-wrap. Attach correct labels to product.

-Moves product to storage areas using the proper equipment, efficiently stacks, and stores the merchandise in the appropriate area according to established sequences and procedures
-Ensures items are stored in an orderly and accessible manner
-Reviews orders for shipment, determines and assembles the correct types of merchandise to be shipped
