PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
-Engages program participants in modifying high-risk lifestyle behaviors (e.g., overweight, high stress, low activity level, smoking).
-Assists program participants in developing and/or maintaining self-care plans through utilization of goal setting strategies.
-Applies self-management education principles to changing and maintaining lifestyle behaviors, as indicated by a variety of behavior change principles.
-Uses clinical judgment to make appropriate referrals for program participants.

-Provides education about the impact of existing mental health or medical conditions.
-Completes proper documentation of all coaching encounters.

Reporting to the Screen Atlanta Manager the Breast Health Specialist will be responsible for providing breast health and breast cancer education for inpatients, outpatients and individuals and groups of adult patients with breast cancer. Serves as a resource to other health professionals in the specified area of expertise. The Breast Health Specialist is a nurse with advanced training and skill in the area of breast cancer. Must be willing to work flexible hours including some evenings and occasional weekends.
