Mental Health Care Advocate
Description
The major focus of the Mental Health Care Advocate is facility-based care review, ensuring that case presentation meets medical necessity guidelines. You will be collecting information from facilities and evaluating it against Level of Care guidelines. You will be supported by a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians including a staff psychiatrist.
Primary Responsibilities:
-Making patient assessments and determining appropriate levels of care
-Managing inpatient mental health cases throughout the entire treatment plan
-Administering benefits and reviewing treatment plans
-Coordinating benefits and transitions between various areas of care
-Identifying ways to add value to treatment plans and consulting with facility staff or outpatient care providers on those ideas

MENTAL HEALTH ASSISTANT-POOL
DESCRIPTION: Responsible for participating as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in the division of Psychiatric Nursing in assessing and providing treatment to patients.
EDUCATION / REQUIREMENTS: Two years college or one year college and one year experience in a mental health setting. General awareness of mental health problems. Ability to make and access others in a non-judgmental, objective manner. Ability to make observations and communicate them to other members of the mental health team.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Sitting, standing, walking stooping, and kneeling and ability to lift up to 30 pounds and push up to 100 pounds. Duties require normal or near normal vision and near normal color and depth perception, hearing and verbal communication is essential. Considerable manual dexterity and some irregular / call hours are also required.

MENTAL HEALTH ASSOC I - PSYCH CRISIS: Grady Health System
DESCRIPTION: The Mental Health Associate I (Clinic Based) provides the following services (as defined by State of Georgia service guidelines) for individuals with Mental Illness, Addictive Disease or Developmental Disabilities: Community Support Services: Discharge Planning, Peer Support Services, Group Training and Family Training. Performs all requirements necessary to obtain authorization (initial registration) for reimbursement purposes. Minimum performance standard: 55% of work hours are direct billable time with the person served.
EDUCATION / REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or equivalent; must be a Certified Peer Specialist (if required).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Are minimal with occasional standing or walking, minimal lifting or other physical exertion. Requires close and distance vision; ability to talk, hear and manual dexterity. The noise level is moderate.

-Turns and positions patients a minimum of every two hours unless specified otherwise
-Uses body alignment devices appropriately; splints, anti-contracture devices
