MENTAL HEALTH ASSISTANT
Description To provide direct patient care to adults and adolescents with psychiatric disorders as well as chemically dependent patients to ensure the safety and well being of patients.
-Monitor unit patients and complete rounds as assigned.
-Participate in treatment planning by helping to identify patients’ problems, needs and strengths. Report all areas of concern regarding patient’s mental or physical status to the Charge Nurse.
-Assist in the admission process, including obtaining vital signs, safety search of patients and personal belongings, obtaining urine specimens and orienting new patients to the unit and their program.
-Ensure precaution protocols are followed, and encourage patients to actively participate in all program activities.
-Accompany patients as assigned by Charge Nurse.
-Plan and prepare adequately for groups.

Responsibilities include handling telephone intakes, telephonic triage and coordination of training and traumatic incident response for a large contract. This position does not include any in-person clinical services.
Requires Masters Degree in mental health field, minimum of 2 years clinical experience, strong clinical assessment skills, and excellent telephonic interpersonal abilities. License and call center or other work-related telephone experience is preferred. Attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills are essential.

Mental Health Therapist
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Mental Health Therapist (Professional Social Services Worker) conducts face to face behavioral health assessments and develops individualized treatment plans and service referrals. Obtains service authorization or reauthorizations.
Provides individual, group, and family therapy for persons with mental health and/or addictive disorders.
This is a temporary, part-time position which will last approximately 6 weeks at 25 hours per week. The work schedule is as follows:
Minimum Training & Experience: POSITION SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in social work or closely related field AND licensure in the State of Georgia at least at the associate level.
Must pass criminal background check, including finger-printing.

Job Requirements
Master’s level degree in management/healthcare field required. Minimum of seven years applicable experience required ( a combination of clinical and management experience is acceptable; 5 years management required). A clinical background and experience in a teaching institution a plus. Must have experience with and extensive knowledge about mental health services. Experience with the State of Georgia behavioral health system and processes a plus.

Support initiateives of the team. This position will be from 5-8 PM Tuesday and Thursday and Saturdays 8:00-10:00 AM.
