Description: The Security Officer is responsible for the protection of a defined area or facility against fire, theft, hazardous conditions and illegal or unauthorized entry to Grady health System property and/or restricted system areas. Monitors radio transmissions and responds to assigned calls and emergency calls for service. Performs fixed and patrol post functions which are essential to patient, visitor, employee and physician safety and security. Education / Requirements: High school diploma or G.E.D required. A minimum of one (1) year experience. Physical Requirements: Are minimal with occasional standing or walking. Requires close and distance hearing, talking, manual dexterity, and irregular hours/on-call. The work environment involves occasional exposure to infectious diseases, fumes or air borne particles and the risk of electrical shock. The noise level is moderate.

Please review the following prior to applying.
-Must be 21 years of age or older.
-Must be Physically Fit (Height & weight standards and evaluations will be a part of the hiring process).
-Must possess valid Driver License / Driving record will be pulled prior to employment.
-Must have reliable transportation. This means your car, and must be in good working condition.
-Minimum H.S. Diploma/GED
-Background in Military and/or Law Enforcement must come with certifications upon interview.
-Submitting to pre-employment and random drug screening is mandatory for all positions in the company. (Lab Corp)
-Any history of violence, theft, or aggression will be disqualified. Applicants prints are on file and re submitted to state quarterly.
-Must possess good communication skills, written and verbal
-Any applicant with visible tattoos will be disqualified.
-Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) preferred
-Male candidates are not allowed to have facial hair outside a mustache. Hair must be above the collar without assistance.
-Female candidates are allowed wedding rings only while performing duties.
-Pay is established upon interview and job assignment. Pay scale is dependent upon experience, education, military or law enforcement.

Responses may include activities such as crowd control, physical intervention, and other similar activities. Performs security inspection tours; documents and notifies appropriate personnel of problems, as necessary. Questions or detains suspicious individuals or criminal violators on TBS property. Manages unruly, abusive or injurious individuals according to established policies and procedures.
