Part-time After School Counselor
NATURE OF WORK: Reporting to the After-School Site Director, the After-School Counselor is responsible for implementing recreational, educational and cultural activities and providing supervision for participants within Decatur Children and Youth Services’ guidelines. Responsible for supervising program participants and maintaining discipline of participants within the guidelines of the after-school program; supervising participants on field trips and providing support to Site Director during assemblies and program-wide activities. Consulting with Site Director on programming and disciplinary concerns. Providing assistance to Site Director in planning and implementing special events. Establishing and maintaining positive lines of communication with parents and/or guardians of assigned participants, including conversation, conferences and phone calls.
