Insurance Specialist - Government Follow-Up
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
-Performs daily follow-up of Government accounts.
-Reviews and maintains a current status of all insurance.
-Obtains necessary information to correct and process claims.
-Coordinates changes to Star System/registration to prevent errors.
-Posts timely memos, documenting activity on all accounts.
-Makes timely referrals to supervisor on account and system problems.
-Identifies rejection listings to ensure that all individual rejections are worked and resubmitted.
-Works with billers to resolve issues on accounts.
-Accesses retro accounts for authorization and certification requirements and billing.
-Communicates coordination of benefits changes to other billing teams, remittance processors, credit and collections and customer service.
-Contacts front-end points of service and medical records by collecting and summarizing data.
-Advises the Non-Government Senior Rep of front-end contractual allowances posting or charge master discrepancies specific to the payer group.
