The Telephone Receptionist is the first point of contact for general incoming communications to the Office of Admissions and Records. This position provides staff support through departmental mail collection and distribution as well as basic customer service through the department?s general phone number and e-mail account, requiring the ability to discern a customer?s true need/concern, knowledge of what functions the Office of Admissions & Records staff performs, and a thorough understanding of the answers to frequently asked Admissions/Records questions. Maintain a general registrar email account, responding to basic questions promptly. Distribute all incoming/outgoing USPS/interoffice mail to/from the staff on campus. In addition, the Receptionist must develop a high sensitivity to the privacy and legal protection concerning academic records.
