Medical Assistant
Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or MA diploma with at least 5 years of Internal Medicine back office experience with a very strong clinical background and excellent phlebotomy skills. Supporting one physician in a busy Internal Medicine practice located on the main campus of Piedmont Hospital. Performs a variety of clinical and non-clinical duties in accordance with established standards and practices. Primary focus will be assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician by performing the following clinical duties: Rooming patients; escorting patients to exam rooms; obtaining vital signs and other pertinent patient history; explaining procedures to patients. Responsible for cleaning, stocking/preparing exam rooms. Performs venipuncture, injections, EKG’s, and spirometry. Follows universal precautions at all times.
