Underwriting Specialist - Medical Professional Liability
Job Summary
Under limited direction the ideal candidate underwrites and analyzes new and renewal Medical Malpractice business primarily for Hospitals, Outpatient and Miscellaneous Health Care Facilities. Responsibilities include marketing Zurich’s products and services through the agency/brokerage community and developing and maintaining relationships with Agents, Brokers and Clients as well as monitoring and following all underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will work within broad limits and authority on highly complex assignments, while also providing leadership and mentoring to other underwriting team members.
Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience underwriting medical malpractice business with Hospitals and Miscellaneous Health Care Facilities, preferably with experience in loss rated accounts. Must have experience marketing and negotiating with producers and a proven track record of production in the Southeast region.
