MEDICAL SOCIAL WORKER
The Medical Social Worker utilizes professional social work skills in collaborating with other members of the medical team to meet the needs of patients and works with patients, either individually or in groups, to prevent or ameliorate related social problems.
Education/Requirements:
Masters Degree in social work from an accredited school of social work required. Field work in a health setting desirable; experience in a health setting in lieu of field work experience, as long as field work with some type of agency has been successfully completed. Skilled in clinical intervention. Interrelated knowledge of social welfare policies and services, the nature of man and his interactions with social systems and the processes of which he is part, and the concepts and principles of social works practice methods in accordance with the values and ethics of the procession. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
